The myth of the world-government
2026-09-30 19:19
I don’t think there is any group which would rule the world. Much less would have done so over several generations. Large developments in history still don’t let themselves be controlled.
On suburbs and neighbourhood units
2026-09-24 12:01
A large part of the US population has become car dependant the last few decades. Residential areas are planed under the presumption that everyone can drive a car. Parking lots take up unreasonably much of the city centres’ area.
Integration does not require assimilation
2026-09-11 14:25
I explained in the previous blogpost why forced assimilation can’t be done. This does not mean integration is impossible. Cultural standardisation is not needed for a society to work.
Forced assimilation does not work
2026-09-09 12:36
Some can’t handle the presence of different cultures. Such tend to demand everyone to give the impression of belonging to the same culture. At least if one is living in a certain area.
The modern mind-control myth
2026-07-17 14:50
Our brain are not constructed to have their characteristics replaced. The explanation lies in the cross-section of evolution and conflicting goals. What is best for one person does not have to be the best for another.
Basing accusations on stereotypes
2026-05-26 14:11
Some are not content with making people into stereotypes. They don’t seem able to imagine that someone could be anything other than their own cliché image. When someone does not mach the stereotype the person is claimed to be a hoax.
Aliens can’t be hidden
2026-04-29 13:34
There are people convinced that the government hides aliens and/or alien technology. The government in question can be the one of their own country. But it is far too often the American one in particular.
When no conspiracy is needed
2026-04-17 19:08
Something I don’t think requires a conspiracy is the Estonia disaster. On the 28th of September 1994 the ferry Estonia sank in the Baltic Sea. At least 852 people died in connection with this.
Myths of descent
2025-09-11 20:10
It is common to ascribe to someone the characteristics of a specific ancestor. Why would this particular one matter and not all the others? As I have pointed out before genetic similarity decrease by half for each degree of relationship.
The difference between ethnicity and population
2025-08-30 18:24
I don’t want to speak of “human races”. It would far too easily lead to the myth that they would be essentially different from each other. In addition there is often a belief they would have sharp borders.
