There are people convinced that the government hides aliens and/or alien technology. The government in question can be the one of their own country. But it is far too often the American one in particular. Time and again such individuals have demanded everything to be made public. The only ones then getting out are collections of UFO reports. I in fact don’t think there are any more than that.
Human are not capable of keeping 100% quite. Neither are we capable of lying consistently throughout our entire lives. This is simply a matter of human error. Something conspiracy talkers don’t spend a thought at. In the same way it is common with contradictory ideas on leaks. Time and again someone has turned up and claimed to be a whistle-blower. However, no-one of them has ever handed over insider information. I don’t think any of them have died shortly afterwards. Or disappeared for that matter.
The closest to insider information I know about is the “autopsy film”. It turned up in 1995 and was claimed to have been made in 1947. The norm at this point in time was filming with fixed camera in colour. It was filmed in black and white with handheld camera. Moreover the photographer seems to not quite know how to do. In addition the “autopsists” don’t behave like the real thing. Rather they behave as if they perform an operation. Which is a different skill. So for me it appears to be a badly done hoax. People believe it to be real just because they want to believe.
I reality there is something called first contacts. This is when previously isolated peoples become aware of each other. Say the locals for the first time see people from a different part of the world. Individuals first seeing them always notify others. This is done as quickly as is just possible. Are there more at site they are notified of it. Or are there not any the person runs away and tells. A contact with aliens would have been revealed immediately. This is simply how humans function.
On the other hand humans are not particularly prone to panic. If a disaster happens only 10% panic. Revealing the existence of aliens would not cause global panic. Those thinking it would not only heavily overestimate how prone to panic humans are. Fear of what one does not understand is supposed to be the default state. I don’t think anything such exist as default state. Rather it is a bad habit encouraged by certain cultures. Consequentially it is differently common in different countries. That all or almost all humans would panic is impossible. Human minds vary far too much for this.
