Some are not content with making people into stereotypes. They don’t seem able to imagine that someone could be anything other than their own cliché image. When someone does not mach the stereotype the person is claimed to be a hoax. Either the person’s skill would consist a such. Or more often someone’s background would be forged. People today are too well-documented for their background to be faked. It is simply not possible to hide or forge everything.
Human minds don’t come from any sort of production lines. The prerequisites are determined randomly based on which genes the parents have. From there the mind develops with varying success. The result is that every single human is mentally unique. How could individual differences not matter? To not consider them appears idiotic to me.
One form of denial of someone’s background is racism. The combination of a certain country of birth and certain physical traits is believed incompatible with competence. If someone with this combination shows competence the person is claimed to be a hoax. That would be sensible if all such were prevented from acquiring competence. In practice it never is so since different experiences exist. Such are individual and not the same for everyone. The racism presupposes the later.
Other forms are sexism, homophobia and transphobia. Every single famous woman not appearing stereotypically feminine risk being labelled tanswoman. As if all the world’s ciswomen would appear like that. Not only is it possible for human minds to vary very much. What is viewed as feminine or masculine varies by time and place. Moreover, transpeople are in fact not so common. This is a matter of 3–4% of the general population. So one can’t take it for granted that all non-sex-stereotypical are trans.
I want to ask a few questions to everyone making this type of error. Anyone not having isolated him- or herself on the Net can be presupposed to have a circle of quittances. Does every single member of yours mach you stereotype? If they don’t why is this supposed to only hold true to yours? Why not apply your everyday experience to the rest of humanity? This is an egotism characterizing conspiracy talkers. It resembles paranoia even if they are not mentally ill. In the same way violence-promoting extremists have tendencies resembling obsessive-compulsive disorder without necessarily suffering from this.
