The concept of “brainwashing” has been used as synonymous with mind control. Loads of unwanted mental states are supposed to be result of that. As if they would not exist without the conscious control of others.

The Swedish society is secularised. Religion is not such a large part of most people’s lives anymore. The presence of religious symbols are usually not a problem. It is only certain individuals being troubled by certain symbols.

Conspiracy talkers have a tendency to believe things to be centrally controlled. People doing the same thing are supposed to be part of the same organisation. This does not at all have to be the case.
Basing accusations on stereotypes

Some are not content with making people into stereotypes. They don’t seem able to imagine that someone could be anything other than their own cliché image. When someone does not mach the stereotype the person is claimed to be a hoax.

The abbreviation CGI is for computer-generated imagery. Images are as such created with the help of a computer. Things which don’t exist is common to depict this way.
Myths on available technology

echnological progress is something misunderstood by conspiracy talkers. Claimed conspirators are supposed to have technology which is decades ahead of the publically developed. The trouble is limited capacity to keep inventions secret.
On the Moon landings

Denial of the Moon landings is a good example of faulty expectations. Conspiracy talkers don’t ask themselves if their expectations hold true. When expectations are faulty real is mistaken for false.
Aliens can’t be hidden

There are people convinced that the government hides aliens and/or alien technology. The government in question can be the one of their own country. But it is far too often the American one in particular.
Why and when scientists change their minds

Individuals outside the scientific mainstream often complain about people within it refusing to listen to them. As if listening was the same as accepting an idea. Real scientists make high demands for accepting the ideas of others.
When no conspiracy is needed

Something I don’t think requires a conspiracy is the Estonia disaster. On the 28th of September 1994 the ferry Estonia sank in the Baltic Sea. At least 852 people died in connection with this.
